The only mee soto that stays in my mind are the ones that my javanese co-workers served. I really liked the soup. Another food that i like was also Pecel. They have a special way of pronoucing 'pecel'. It sounded like pechillAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07784670399648449327noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5488698205890947814.post-13346032792584670912013-11-06T15:42:20.634-07:002013-11-06T15:42:20.634-07:00Oh and one more thing, when we make berkedel (pota...Oh and one more thing, when we make berkedel (potato cake), we use fried shallot instead, and add it in the dough. We also add green onion in it.. so good.

I really like your website. I am married to a Malaysian guy, he is from Ipoh. I could not stop smiling, because I had used different recipes before and failed. Thanks a lot

Anyway,
I am from Indonesia, and soto is my family's favorite dish. At least 4 times a week, we eat soto for breakfast at local restaurants.

Beef soto with coconut milk soup is my favorite. my mom said that the secret is to put cinnamon and nutmeg little bit in beef soup and add coconut milk once the soup is ready (using sama base spices and method like you have above). To serve soto (chicken or beef) we also add sliced celery leaves.

However, it really depends on what soto style we want to make. In Makassar for example they add fresh mik into the soup, and it is also delicious

oh btw, in Indonesia I think the potato cake above is called Bergedel or Perkedel :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06329657085964574165noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5488698205890947814.post-20878721243567932282013-11-01T09:40:05.690-06:002013-11-01T09:40:05.690-06:00Dan S
